Tennis Facilities Development - Project 2
As mentioned in the recent newsletter, Fingal County Council issued a favourable decision for the proposed court development, floodlights and two court seasonal Airhall on December 20th 2009. The conditions imposed were acceptable and the club found no reason to appeal the Planning Authority's decision to An Bord Pleanala.
On 26th January we received correspondence from An Bord Pleanala stating that three third party appeals had been lodged. The Club responded to the appeals lodged on the 23rd February, and we now await a decision from the Bord – which will probably take four months.
As you know the project committee have worked very hard to find a suitable form of development that would achieve the strategic aims of the club, while at the same time ameliorate the concerns of the Planning Authorities and the immediate neighbours.
The management committee believe that the current proposal, which is more modest than the previous one, deals adequately with the concerns of the Bord with regard to light spillage and residential disamenity, and are confident that the Planning Authority's decision will be confirmed by An Bord Pleanala.
As soon as the Bord decision is made a proposal will be put to the members for their approval at an EGM.
